StegoPixel is published on the Microsoft Store, which handles the installation, the signing and the updates for you. Here is what it needs, what the purchase involves, and how to tell the real listing from a lookalike.

What the Store version gives you
- A 15-day free trial. Try it before you decide; the Store manages the trial and the purchase.
- A signed, validated package. Windows verifies the package before it installs, which is the practical reason to prefer a store listing over a file downloaded from a search result.
- Updates handled by Windows. There is no separate updater process and no need to check a website for a new version — the Store keeps it current.
- Install and uninstall like any other app. It appears in Settings → Apps, installs per-user, and needs no administrator rights.
- Nothing else to install first. Everything the app needs ships inside the package, so it works on a clean machine.

Getting it safely
A tool for inspecting files other people send you is worth impersonating, so it is worth being concrete about this.
- Use the real listing. Ours is the StegoPixel listing on apps.microsoft.com — searching for “StegoPixel” in the Microsoft Store app lands on the same page.
- The Store listing is the only distribution channel. There is no installer on this site, and no copy anywhere else is ours.
- Check the publisher. The listing shows LockerB as the publisher — if the name differs, it is not us.
StegoPixel is distributed only through the Microsoft Store. An installer offered on another site, in a forum or in an advert is not the app, however convincing it looks.
